RHF Crenshaw Gardens is a mixed use project consisting of 49 affordable tax credit, family apartments (1, 2, and 3 bedrooms) and ground floor commercial space. The building will provide residents with comfortable functional housing that includes modern amenities, social services, easy access to transit, all in a facility that promotes social interaction through the merging of common amenities.
There is a large central courtyard at the second level that provides a quiet relief from the busy boulevard noise below. This courtyard space will be accessible and used by all residents. The courtyard has open space with seating, a play area with equipment for children, and more densely landscaped space. The community room contains a small food prep kitchen, lounge, game and television areas all opening onto the courtyard and located adjacent to the laundry room. All spaces and amenities of the community have been carefully designed and organized to maximize their accessibility for the physically disabled.
The apartments have been designed with an open plan concept in the common areas of the units to maximize the space and feel of the unit. Kitchens have plenty of storage space and feature energy star rated appliances and solid surface countertops. The bedrooms are sized with ample closet space and natural light. Some 2 and 3-bedroom units feature an extra half-bath for function and convenience. All unit bathrooms will feature low-flow fixtures.
Crenshaw Gardens is currently under construction with a scheduled opening date in Summer 2018. We will be accepting applications from March 19, 2018 through April 27, 2018. You can get a copy of our application here.
Financing for the development and construction of Crenshaw Gardens has been provided by Citibank, Angelus Trust, Los Angeles Housing & Community Investment Dept., California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, Boston Financial Investment Management and UNIDAD.
