Resident of the Year 2011

2011 Resident of the Year

Boneata Krautz
Westover Manor
Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Boneata Kautz was the first person to move in to Westover Manor on November 18, 1989. She has always taken an interest in the community, organizing potlucks, serving on the resident association, and putting together fundraisers for the association. She is in charge of the exercise class, helps with Bingo and monthly birthday parties, arranges for the bus to the grocery store every week, and sets up visits with the visiting nurses. It is reported that she likes to stay busy, and she certainly does.

Boneata retired in 1984, after working for Mercy Hospital for many years. After she retired, she volunteered in the medical records department at the hospital for 13 years. She is also very active in Hope United Church of Christ. She has been part of their quilter group that donates quilts to the less fortunate in Cedar Rapids. She has also volunteered with Hog Wild Days, church dinners, and their annual boutique.

RHF is pleased to recognize Boneata Kautz as 2011 Resident of the Year.
