Resident of the Year 2016

Barbara Sebree
The Towers at Crooked Creek
Indianapolis, IN

Barbara Sebree has been a resident of The Towers at Crooked Creek for 19 years. She was the president of the resident council there for eight years, recently resigning her position.

During her time as president, she worked diligently to enhance the lives of the residents by coming up with activities that encouraged residents to stay active. She organized several trips such as casino outings, nights at the theater, and dinners at local restaurants.

When she wasn’t encouraging residents to attend activities outside the community, she was organizing activities such as bingo, card games, and community gatherings inside the community. She took on the job of organizing an annual fashion show at the community. Barbara reaches out to new residents to make them feel comfortable, at home, and welcomed.

Barbara is an active member of her church, Mt. Paran Baptist Church, where she has held many volunteer positions. She has been a participant of the Indianapolis Black Expo and a member of the NAACP Council for Negro Women. She uses her affiliations with many civic organizations to help with events at The Towers at Crooked Creek.

RHF is pleased to present Barbara Sebree with the 2016 Resident of the Year Award.
