What type of housing is Hillcrest Acres? Is it low-income housing?
Hillcrest Acres is a tax credit community for families. Rent is based on area median income and is set below a specific level relevant to the community.
What does the rent include?
Monthly rental of the apartment, water, parking, and trash service.
Is there a lease?
Yes, there is a one-year lease, but we understand the necessity of unanticipated move-outs.
How many apartments are there?
Hillcrest Acres has 100 apartments.
How big are the apartments?
Hillcrest Acres offers one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as a few more accessible apartments for the sensory/mobility impaired.
How do I get started with the move-in process?
Simply fill out an application completely, sign it, and mail it to the address on the application.
Is there a waiting list for residency?
No, currently Hillcrest Acres does not have a waiting list.
What is the Security Deposit?
The Security Deposit is the same as one month’s rent.
Do you allow pets?
Hillcrest Acres does not allow pets.
Is there additional storage space available?
Each apartment home has designated storage bins in the lower level of each building.
Is there an elevator?
No, there are no elevators
Is parking available?
Yes, Hillcrest Acres offers its residents the use of an off-street parking lot.
What is the cost of parking?
There is no cost for parking. Parking is included in the rent.
How many keys do I receive?
Residents receive an apartment key, a key to a locked mailbox for their apartment, and an access key to the main entry. Our main entrances are intercom controlled and automatically open with the key.
Are there any planned activities?
Due to the pandemic, Hillcrest Acres has had to defer any management-sponsored resident activities until further notice.
Are there on-site laundry facilities?
There are onsite laundry facilities in each building at Hillcrest Acres. Each laundry room contains coin-operated washers and coin-operated dryers with folding tables for the convenience of our residents. This center is located on the ground floor. Three-Bedroom Townhomes have Wash/Dryer connections on the second floor; residents may install their own.
What is the garbage/recycling process?
There are dumpsters and labeled recycling bins conveniently located near each building.
Is there any public transportation available?
Yes, the site is conveniently located near the MBTA Bus Line and commuter rail station.
