Q: Do you have any vacancies?

A: None are available at this time. However, our waiting list is still open for applications, right now there is a 2 – 4 year wait for move-in. We currently do not have any vacancy for emergency housing.

Q: How large is the apartment and do you have a separate living room?

A: This is an all one bedroom community. We have 545 square foot units with a combined dining and living area.

Q: Do you have a balcony?

A: No

Q: How much closet space do you have?

A: Linen closet, bathroom closet, sliding door bedroom closet

Q: Do you have parking?

A: We have 12 spaces on the east side of the building. It is first come, first serve. You can find additional on street parking for Wards 4 and 5.

Q: How long is the waiting list?

A: Enough room for your application and is prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis. It is updated every six months to maintain an active listing. There is currently a 2 – 4 year waiting period for an apartment.

Q: How soon will you have a vacancy?

A: There is currently a 2 – 4 year waiting period.

Q: Are utilities included?

A: You pay gas and electric. DC energy Office will provide assistance to those whose income is less than $20,274 for one person and $26,512 for a household of two.

Q: Do you have a meal program?

A: Many of our supportive services are still in development. We are currently working on a daily lunch congregate meal program through Greater Washington Urban League. We have established to be a Host Location for Commodity Foods and Share Food Programs.

Q: What is the rental amount?

A: 30% of your adjusted Gross Income

Q: What are the procedures to apply?

A: Pick up your application and thoroughly complete what is requested. Mail the application to our corporate office in Long Beach, California. It will be recorded and sent to the on-site manager.

Q: What social activities to you have there?

A: We have Project H.A.N.D.S., crochet lessons, Holiday get-togethers, Oldies But Goodies dances, sewing lessons, prayer service, movie night, arts and crafts.

Q: Do you have a room for outside associations to host a meeting?

A: Our multi-purpose room can accommodate 75 to 100 people. Non-profit affiliates and church organizations are free to make arrangements with the on-site manager.
