Q: What type of housing is Seabury Heights? Is it low income housing?
A: Yes. Seabury Heights is a subsidized housing community for seniors age of 62 & over and individuals with disabilities. There are two programs available to residents, Section 8 and Tax Credit, depending on income.
Q: Who pays the remainder of rent?
A: The remainder of the rent is paid in the form of a subsidy. If a resident qualifies for a subsidy, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), a U.S. government agency, will pay the remainder of the rent.
Q: What does the rent include?
A: The rent includes heat and hot water. Residents’ are responsible for their own electricity.
Q: Is there a lease?
A: Yes, there is a one-year lease, but we understand the necessity of unanticipated move-outs.
Q: How many apartments are there?
A: Seabury Heights has 302 apartments.
Q: How big are the apartments?
A: One bedroom apartments are 500 square feet; two bedroom apartments are 800 square feet.
Q: How do I get started with the move in process?
A: Simply fill out an application completely, sign it and mail it to the address on application.
Q: Is there a waiting list for residency?
A: Yes, currently Seabury Heights has a waiting list. Please call for the approximate waiting time.
Q: Is there a Security Deposit required?
A: Yes. The security deposit is equal to one month’s rent.
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Yes. Seabury Heights welcomes you to bring your small pet along with you. There is a limit of one animal per apartment and dogs can not to exceed 25 pounds.
Q: Is there additional storage space available?
A: There is no additional storage available, however, each apartment offers some storage space.
Q: Is there an elevator?
A: Yes, there are 2 elevators in each building.
Q: Is parking available?
A: Yes there are resident only spaces as well as visitor spaces.
Q: Are there any activities for the elderly?
A: Yes. Seabury Heights’ has a full time Resident Security Coordinator on staff. The RSC has many planned activities.
Q: Are there on-site laundry facilities?
A: Yes, each building has a laundry room on the first floor.
