Manager of the Year 2019
Maple City Square
Shana Anders-Hastings has been the Manager of Maple City Square since 1988. For the last 3 years, her responsibilities have expanded to include overseeing Immanual Residences for the Elderly in Evergreen Park, IL, a community RHF acquired in 2016.
Shana is an example of how all managers should be fulfilling RHF’s mission to provide a range of housing options and services to older adults in an environment enhancing their quality of life. She treats her residents with care and dignity.
She advocated for three years to get a Service Coordinator on staff to help the high number of frail residents in her community. She encourages her residents to be involved in the wider community by participating in RHF’s Project HANDS and to donate, locally, to the Cystic Fibrosis camp. This year the community participated in RHF’s Unwrap a Smile campaign, helping to ensure that every child in an RHF community received a Christmas gift.
Her Sevice Coordinator, Mia Tomei, writes, “It has been an honor to work with Shana since 2015. In that time she has proven to be a dynamic leader who will go the extra mile on all projects.” She goes on to write, “I have seen Shana work diligently with HUD regulations and to assist the residents with their needs as they age in place. She has gone above and beyond for her residents and the community.”
For all but one year of her 30-year history at Maple City Square, she has received a “Superior” rating on her MOR (Management Occupancy Review) and received a score of 99a on her most recent HUD REAC inspection.
RHF is pleased to present Shana Anders-Hastings with the 2019 Manager of the Year Award.
