Escalon Heritage House
Pamela Mendez is devoted to making sure Escalon Heritage House is a welcoming and inclusive environment for those who live at the community. She visits residents who are hospitalized, even though she does not have a car, she finds a way of getting to the hospital. She welcomes every new resident to Escalon with balloons and a card. She volunteers with resident activities.
She participates in the planting and maintenance of the massive Escalon vegetable garden.
Her volunteer efforts extend outside to the Escalon community through her work at the Women’s Shelter, serving lunch at the Escalon Community Center, and working with the Escalon Fire Department. She is actively involved with the Escalon Covenant Church – Women’s Ministries, their mission trips to Alaska, heads the children’s Bible Study Group. She assists with church office and custodial work.
Pam is a tireless advocate for seniors, children and abused women.
“Pam has an energy of love and faithfulness,” states Elaine Carstens. “Pam is busy with her daily life but will always take the time to listen and help in whatever way she can.”
