Social Services Coordinator of the Year 2017
The Towers at Crooked Creek
DeLisa Harrington has been the Service Coordinator at The Towers at Crooked Creek in Indianapolis, IN since 2005. She is a graduate of Indiana University with a BSW in Social Work.
She assists, inspires and encourages residents by assuring their needs are met through identifying needs, coordinating and providing services. Services include assessments, benefit/entitlements, education, crisis intervention, supportive listening, advocacy, programs, resources, outreach, general information/referral, healthcare services, transportation, home management, family support and navigating the complex healthcare system.
In one year, she was instrumental in providing $1,050,537 in services and free items for our residents. She is dependable and trusted by not only the residents but also the staff members. She is dedicated and passionate about being an advocate for our residents.
DeLisa created the Resident Ambassador program in her building and it has changed the residents and the building as a whole for the better. The Ambassadors acknowledge and celebrate fellow residents. Each participant takes a pledge stating they pledge to be an active participant by demonstrating they care. Basically, the Ambassadors’ mission is to create a positive environment through engagement and outreach that boosts resident morale. This program contributes to making a positive change in their community.
She is well-respected not only at Crooked Creek but within the community and RHF. She maintains a positive attitude, works well with management and tirelessly advocates for “her” residents. “My journey as a Service Coordinator has been more of a calling than a job. Connecting with residents can be life-changing and something I truly enjoy.”
RHF is pleased to present DeLisa Harrington with the 2017 Social Service Coordinator of the Year Award.
